How to hire on Xwork

From posting a job to paying for great work — here's the whole journey.

1. Post a job — it's free

Tell us what you need done. Posting a fixed-price job is always free and takes just a few minutes: add a clear title, pick a category, list the skills you're after, describe the scope, and set a budget.

The clearer your job post, the better the proposals you'll get. Mention what success looks like, any deadlines, and the kind of experience you'd like to see.

2. Review proposals

Freelancers apply to your job for free, and each job receives proposals from up to 50 applicants. Compare their proposals alongside their profiles, ratings, reviews, Job Success Score and work history.

Look for trust signals like an identity-verified badge and Top Rated or Rising Talent status, then shortlist your favourites and message them to ask questions before you decide.

3. Hire and collaborate

Send an offer to the freelancer you choose. Break the work into milestones — each with its own deliverable and price — so progress is clear for both sides.

Once hired, you collaborate in one place: messaging, file sharing and your contract all live on Xwork, which keeps everything organised and protected.

4. Pay safely with escrow

You fund each milestone into secure escrow before work begins. The freelancer can see the money is set aside, but it isn't released until you approve the work — so you only ever pay for work you're happy with.

Xwork's client service fee is a low 2%, with no hidden charges. If something isn't right, you can request changes, agree a refund, or open a dispute, all covered by our Refund Policy.

5. Leave a review and rehire

When the contract wraps up, leave an honest review to help the community — and the freelancer can review you too. Found someone great? You can rehire them for future work in a couple of clicks.
