1. Create a standout profile
Your profile is your storefront. Add a clear professional title, the skills you offer, your rate, and a portfolio that shows your best work. Use a genuine photo of yourself and write a short, specific overview of what you do and who you help.
A complete, honest profile ranks better in search and earns more trust. Verifying your identity adds a badge that reassures clients and is required before you can be paid.
2. Find and apply to jobs — for free
Browse fixed-price jobs that match your skills and apply at no cost. Xwork never charges credits or "connects" to apply — applying is completely free.
Apply early: each job accepts only the first 50 applicants, so the sooner you send a thoughtful, tailored proposal, the better your odds. Reference the client's actual needs, keep it concise, and explain how you'll deliver.
3. Win the contract
Clients compare your proposal with your profile, reviews and Job Success Score, and may message you with questions — reply promptly and professionally. Agree the scope, price and milestones before you start.
4. Do the work and get paid securely
The client funds each milestone into escrow before you begin, so you can see your payment is secured. Deliver the work, get it approved, and the funds (less the 10% freelancer service fee) land in your balance. There's no upfront cost to start — you only pay a fee when you earn.
Add a payout method (PayPal, Payoneer or bank) once your identity is verified, and withdraw your available balance.
5. Build your reputation
Great work earns great reviews, which lift your Job Success Score and can unlock badges like Rising Talent and Top Rated. A strong track record brings repeat clients and better opportunities over time.
